Family members in Miami fought to keep him here in the US of A while his dad fought to take him back to Cuba. Mr. Castro won that battle and Elian was taken back to Cuba. From the sounds of it, Elian seems to agree with the fate that was decided for him. AND he's in the military. Hmm, I'm not entirely convinced.
